Dr. De Vooght is a graduate of the Catholic University of Louvain. He further developed his experience after completing a post-graduate training at the Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc in Brussels and at the University Hospital of Bern in Switzerland. He then obtained his European Recognition Diploma (EBOPRAS). In addition, he completed his curriculum with a 6-month fellowship in facial and craniofacial surgery with Dr. Daniel Marchac in Paris.
Dr de Vooght demonstrates his passion for his profession by striving to continuously discover and learn new techniques through his active participation with, amongst others, The Royal Belgian Society for Plastic Surgery, the Société Française de Chirurgie Plastique Reconstructrice et Esthétique, The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe.
Plastic surgery covers two main areas, “aesthetic” and “repair”. There is no aesthetic surgery technique without reconstructive surgery, just as reconstructive surgery will always be carried out to ensure the best cosmetic outcome. In short, these two components are inseparable from a technical point of view. There is, therefore no such thing as one “plastic surgery”.
Whether it is a purely aesthetic procedure or conversely, a surgery to repair a congenital or acquired abnormality which is causing dysfunction in the patient, Dr. de Vooght is able to provide both and will always prioritise the complete satisfaction and health of the patient. Each issue will be examined in a personalised and holistic way and the most suitable treatment will be proposed.
Whether it is to correct certain features deemed undesirable or unsightly, possibly for the purpose of rejuvenation or even to repair a birth defect, or a problem as a result of an illness, accident or injury, many people will choose to have facial plastic surgery. This includes:
Eyelid Surgery (blepharoplasty)
Nose surgery (rhinoplasty)
Injection of autologous fat (lipofilling)
Ear surgery (otoplasty)
Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation
Non-surgical facial rejuvenation helps to minimize the passage of time and ageing. It helps to erase the sad or tired appearance of the face. By means of non-invasive techniques this procedure is most often carried out in the Doctor’s office. Fine lines, furrows and marks associated with sun damage and ageing can all be improved. Treatments include:
Fillers (hyaluronic acid)
Dermatological surgery is the component of plastic surgery that supports the prevention and treatment of many skin and soft tissue problems, ranging from benign lesions such as moles to different types of skin cancers.
Benign soft tissue lesions (cysts, lipomas)
Cutaneous cancers (carcinomas, melanomas)
Soft tissue cancers (sarcomas)
There can be many reasons for choosing breast surgery, whether it is to increase, reduce or even symmetrise the size. In the case of sequelae, perhaps appearance changing surgery such as a lumpectomy or ablation of the breast (removal), breast surgery can help through reconstruction. These are some areas of our expertise:
Breast augmentation by prosthesis or autologous fat
Breast lift (mastopexy)
Breast reconstruction (prosthesis, fat or tissues flap surgery)
Gynecomastia for males
Dieting or sustained sporting activity do not always guarantee our dream body shape. Plastic surgery can help to contour any problem areas by removing excess fat and/or skin and tightening muscles. This type of surgery can, in some cases, be the ideal complement to the treatment of obesity. Your surgeon can advise you on the most suitable option for your issue. This can include:
Abdominalplasty (tummy tuck)
Liposuction or Lipoaspiration (liposculpture)
Brachioplasty (arm lifts)
Below is a list of some frequently asked questions, but please feel free to call our office at +32 (0)2 306 83 66 if you need additional information. We are always pleased to assist you.
Depending on the procedures, you will be referred to an accredited hospital (Hôpital Delta or Clinique Ste Anne - St Rémi) or a private clinic (Claris Clinic). These offer not only state-of-the-art technology, but also the best infrastructure to provide patients with the safest environment.
What is the average timeframe from consultation to treatment?
Dr. de Vooght will do his best to provide you with your chosen treatment as quickly as possible. The average wait time after consultation is 4 weeks. In the event you decide to cancel, it is important you notify the surgeon as soon as possible in order not to prolong the waiting list.
Cosmetic surgery is never covered by insurance organisations. However, some procedures that correct problems causing functional impairment to the patient may be partially or totally covered. This can be discussed during the consultation.
The rates charged depend on the operating techniques to be considered. Each patient is unique and a full clinical examination is necessary to determine the surgical strategy. You will then be provided with a personalised proposal.
The type of anaesthesia used will be discussed during the consultation (general, loco-regional, sedation or local). The choice will be determined according to the type of treatment chosen, the duration of the operation and the general health condition of the patient. Except for procedures under local anaesthetic, anaesthesia will always be performed by an approved anaesthetist.
No. Some procedures can be conducted on an outpatient basis. These are usually short and low risk procedures (some facelifts, simple rhinoplasties, otoplasties, dermatological surgery, breast augmentation, liposuction). In all cases, it is the patient’s safety that is a priority.
Will I immediately see the results of my plastic surgery?
The overall result is usually immediately visible. However, in some cases (the type of procedure, healing time of the individual), it may be necessary to wait a few weeks or even months to appreciate the final result. Any minor ‘corrections’ or ‘alterations’ can also be carried out at this time.
Yes. As part of breast augmentation, Dr. de Vooght will use in consultation a state-of-the-art technology that will consist in modeling your bust in 3D and then showing you the result of different simulations from a selected implant. The software used will take into account not only the shape and the volume of the implant but also the position of the implant to bring a realism and exact precision.
